Today, as an escape from heavy thoughts and feelings plaguing me, I decided to take a trip to see some of my favorite words. Today, I wanted to see why they are important to me.
It was a friend of mine who one day suggested favorite words. She shared hers with me: Serendipity. A good choice. I dedicate this post to the memory of friends who come along side us to give us a hand once in a while, who fill our lives with sunshine and hope for the season we need them.
Here is my list of favorite words:
Endeavor: indicative if trying, striving, reaching. We can develop a sense of self-awareness or control to stretch ourselves to meet an opportunity.
Happenstance: A circumstance or situation that has changed due to chance. We did not achieve it on our own merit or endeavor, but solely by chance. But–and the true beauty of the word–it “happened”. That to me means nothing ever stays the same. There is always the internal hope of happenstance when we are at a loss of our own efforts to try.
Inspire (and the related words Inspirational, inspiration and inspired): Being moved or guided by divine or higher influences. A source bigger than me to fill in those holes when I am feeling empty, low or out of ideas. I picture a breath of either warm air or cool refreshing air (whichever I need most that moment) coming and blowing onto me, moving me in the direction I needed. Much like a divine compass.
Perchance: Similar to Happenstance but more slanted at it might happen, not it already has. A possibility of chance. Again, I see another change and/or opportunity based on chance instead of our own personal endeavors.
